Top Five Tourist Attractions in Pakistan

Pakistan is a country enriched with culture, nature, adventure and heritage. From the mighty stretches of Karakoram in the north to the Arabian Sea in west, Pakistan is full of plenty of famous natural and man mad tourist attractions. Here is a list of top ten tourist places in Pakistan.

K2:

Pakistan has the pride of having second highest mountain of the World. K2 is the second highest peak on Earth, following Mount Everest. 28,251 feet (8,611 meters) high K2 is located in District Skardu of Gilgit-Baltistan region, Pakistan. It is located on Pakistan and China border. Mostly the mountain is climbed from Pakistani side because it is very hazardous to climb it from Chinese side.

K2 is also called Savage Mountain due to its tough ascent and second highest death rate between eight-thousanders. For every four persons who successfully climbed K2, one has died attempting.

Nanga Parbat (The killer mountain):

It is world’s ninth highest mountain with an elevation of 26,660 feet (8,126 meters). It is located in District Diamer of Gilgit-Baltistan region. Nanga Parbat is also known as Killer Mountain because it is considered deadliest between all eight-thousanders.

Fairy Meadow:

The lush green plateau of Fairy Meadow is located in Diamir District near Nanga Parbat in Gilgit Baltistan. To reach Nanga Parbat first you need to reach Fairy Meadow. It is also called Heaven of Earth due to its marvelous beauty. It is located at an altitude of 3300 meters above sea level. The place stays closed for domestic and foreign tourists during winter due to heavy snowfall.

Kaghan Valley:

Kaghan Valley is the most famous valley among tourists in Pakistan. It is located in Mansehra District of province Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The beautiful mountains, charming lakes and attractive landscapes have made this valley very popular. One other reason for this valley to be famous is because it is nearest valley among valleys of northern areas for the tourists coming from Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan and Islamabad. The highest point of this valley is Babusar Pass at an altitude of 13,690 feet (4,170 meters) above sea level.

Famous places in this valley are Naran, Lake Saif-ul-Malook, Malika Parbat, Aansoo Lake, Dudipatsar Lake, Piyala Lake and Lulusar Lake.

Neelum Valley:

It is located in District Neelum of Azad Jammu & Kashmir. It is most famous valley of Azad Jammu & Kashmir among tourists. Athmuqam, Sharda and Kel are most famous places of this valley. The highest place of Neelum Valley is Kel which is located at an altitude of 2097 meters above sea level.
